Introduction
Dr Patrizia Porcu is an established oncologist with more than 15 years of clinical experience within the areas of breast, gastrointestinal, head and neck, prostate, brain, gynecological, skin and thyroid cancers. She is experienced in the management of all malignant diseases, combining chemotherapeutic agents with advanced radiotherapy techniques.Dr Patrizia graduated from the prestigious La Cattolica University, Rome, in 2005 and obtained her speciality degree in Radiotherapy and Oncology from the University La Sapienza, Rome.She has been instrumental in developing advanced radiotherapy treatment techniques such as Intensity and Volumetric Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT-VMAT), Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery using Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Breath Hold Radiotherapy, Carbon Ions Therapy and Proton Therapy.In 2010, Dr Patrizia was awarded a grant from the European Institute of Oncology for a clinical research project on hypo-fractioned treatments in breast cancer.
