Dr. Abeer Al Khalafawi

Introduction

Dr Abeer Al Khalafawi is a Consultant Paediatrician in the Department of Paediatrics at the Medcare Women & Children Hospital. She completed her BSc in Basic Medical Sciences followed by MBBS, both from the Faculty of Medicine at Kuwait University. She then obtained a Diploma for Child Health from London and a Membership in the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) from Glasgow, UK. She also has to her credit, the membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH), a Certification as an International Board Lactation Consultant (BCLC) and a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCP), UK. She is also a member of the Jordanian Medical Association.

Dr. Khalafawi began her illustrious career as a Resident Paediatrician at the Al Sabah Hospital, and then as a Registrar in Paediatrics at Mubarak Al Kabeer Hospital, University Teaching Hospital, both in Kuwait. She worked as a Consultant Paediatrician briefly in Jordan and Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE before joining Saqr Hospital as Head of the Paediatric & Neonatology Department. She also worked in Sharjah as a Consultant Paediatrician at Al Dana Specialist Medical Centre.
