Introduction
Dr. Joseph Youssef is a Specialist in the Department of Internal Medicine at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. After completing his MBBS from Tishreen University in Latakia, he obtained a Master’s degree in Internal Medicine from Damascus University, Syria. He is a member of the Canadian Medical Registrar, the Collège des Médecins Du Québec and the Syrian Internal Medicine Association. He is also a member of the Dubai Healthcare Authority and the Syrian Medical Association.
Dr. Youssef has worked in several hospitals in Syria, the UAE and Canada in different settings ranging from outpatient clinics to inpatient wards, critical care, coronary care units and emergency departments, and in urban, rural, and remote settings. He commenced his career as a Resident of Internal Medicine at Al Mousat & Al Assad University Hospitals and then went on to become an Internal Medicine Specialist in the ICU at the St Louis Hospital, both in Damascus, Syria. He briefly ran his own clinic for a few years before joining the Red Crescent Hospital, in Syria as an Internal Medicine Specialist Resident in Cardiology. Subsequently, he moved first to Dubai, UAE and then to Canada as an Internal Medicine Specialist. He worked with Medcare Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital and Firstmed Day Surgery Centre in Dubai, and then at the CIUSSS West Hospital in Montreal, Canada.
