Dr. Naureen Izhar

Introduction

Dr. Naureen Izhar is a Specialist Nephrologist at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital and Medcare Hospital, Sharjah. She completed her MBBS from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. She is a Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS), Pakistan and a Fellow at the World Kidney Academy for Clinical Renal Transplantation. She is a member of the Emirates Medical Association Nephrology and Transplantation Society, the International Society of Nephrology and the Pakistan Society of Nephrology.
Dr. Izhar is known for giving excellent care in the field of adult nephrology, transplant medicine, and critical care nephrology. She started her career in Karachi, Pakistan, with the Kidney Centre, followed by a stint at the Jamal Noor Hospital and the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). Subsequently, she moved to the UAE to join Al Qassimi Hospital under the Ministry of Health as a Registrar Nephrologist. Here, she managed all sorts of kidney diseases and gained extensive experience in double-lumen catheter placements, among other procedures. She then worked as a Nephrologist at Zulekha Hospital and further strengthened her expertise in critical care and emergency nephrology. Before joining Medcare, she worked at Al Zahra Hospital as a Specialist Nephrologist.
Dr. Izhar’s expertise covers the entire gamut of nephrological conditions, including CKD, AKI, dialysis, nephrotic and nephritic syndrome, renal transplant, and emergency nephrology. She treats electrolyte imbalance, renovascular hypertension, cystic diseases of the kidney, renal stones requiring conservative treatment, nephritis and nephrotic syndrome and critical care and emergency nephrological cases. She has also performed critical procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, dialysis catheter insertion, and renal biopsies.
She speaks Arabic, English, Hindi and Urdu.
