Introduction
Dr. Ed Ashtar is one of America’s top Medical Oncology and Clinical Hematology Consultants. He is a triple American Board Certified with over 20 years of experience. He received the Diploma of Human Medicine from Aleppo University Faculty of Medicine with honors and completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Kentucky Medical Center (UKMC). He was awarded the Outstanding Resident Performance of the year 1997 and the Best Physician of the Year 1999-2000 at Whitesburg Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation (MCHC). He eventually moved to The National Institutes of Health-NIH /National Cancer Center-NCI in Bethesda, Maryland, in 2002 and completed fellowship and clinical research in Hematology/Oncology. He became the Chief of Fellows and was awarded several honors during his fellowship, including the ASCO Foundation Merit Award in 2007. He was involved in several research trials in the US and was a co-investigator in several cancer protocols. He was a key author and co-author in several ASCO presentations and publications at NIH/NCI. Dr. Ed Ashtar eventually went to private practice in 2008. He was the Head of two big institutions: The hematology and Oncology Professional Association in Pennsylvania and Cancer Professionals of Greater Washington in Northern Virginia/Maryland.
