During his tenure as a Head of Nephrology department at the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, Dr. Shamma successfully led a team of professionals. Prior to this he worked as a Nephrologist at Alkindi hospital and as a Nephrologist in Alshawi hospital. He obtained his specializations from the Syrian board, issued by the Ministry of Health.
