Born on November 11, 1955, in Vaipur, Pathanamthitta, Kerala Dr. K.Chitrathara had her early school education at the NSS High School in Vaipur. She had her pre-degree course at Assumption College, Changanacherry. Then she joined the Kottayam Medical College for MBBS in 1973 and completed it in 1979 with good academic records.
