Introduction
Dr. Sajith Narayanan looks after an advanced dialysis programme at the best nephrology hospital in Calicut - Aster MIMS which offers Maintenance Hemodialysis, Hemodiafiltration, ICU dialysis, CRRT and CAPD facilities. He started the Transplant programme at Aster MIMS in 2006 which has performed more than 700 kidney transplants so far, including ABO incompatible transplants. He routinely performs interventions such as renal biopsy ( both native and transplant kidneys), tunnelled jugular catheter insertions and percutaneous CAPD catheter insertions. The institution has an in house transplant immunology lab and PCR, HLA typing CDC, flowcytometry and Luminex platforms. Our area of specialization is immunologically high risk transplants, paired kidney exchanges and domino transplants. We have performed around 35 ABO-incompatible and close to 50 kidney including 2 three way kidney exchanges and one 4 way exchange. exchanges so far.
